About David 'The Captain' Grant
David's love of rock music began at an early age when his family began Powerhouse, the first regular Rock Club in Scotland, back in the 70's. Tho' just a nipper back then, he knew he'd found the antidote to the shi*e that was around in the charts and his pocket money was soon being frittered away on building an album collection that was the envy of many. Until CD's came along and made his vast vinyl collection pretty obsolete!
Anyway, since then David has DJ'd regularly in a Rock Club in Ayr and has worked in radio since the late 80's. So, needless to say, when the chance came along to not only do his beloved radio stuff, but to do it on a proper rock station, he leapt at it!
Through the years he's had the pleasure of meeting some of the biggest names in music including Ian Gillan, Ginger Baker, Jim Kerr, Billy Idol, Elvis Costello..........and he considers himself a very lucky boy to be doing what he does for a living - playing the best classic rock for four hours a day!! Doesn't get much better than that!!!
