Ted was born San Diego, California. An American national he also holds an Irish and British passport so I guess you could say he's a little mixed up. The strange ramblings of the man have helped him travel all 5 continents and he has worked in 3 of them (Technically 4 if you count his time as a drugs mule!) The name Ted was bestowed upon him by his parents as his middle name (Theadore) so once all the kids found this out in class role call they called him Teddy (Bear) and then it became just plain old Ted.
He always fancied a career in music but unfortunately he cannot hold a note and has tried but struggles to learn any musical instrument, so he did the next best thing – borrowed (stole) all of his brothers music collection, learning about the singers, guitarists, drummers, songwriters and history he then managed to convince the local radio station to let him hang around!
He started working at the early age of 12! In a computer games store where he mastered the Spectrum ZX and gained a degree in commodore 64 coding. An unwise move saw him leave his job a couple of years later to become an advanced hygiene technician in a local supermarket (mopping floors!) at the same time he spent weekends and school holidays learning a trade and all the time hording his hard earned pennies to finally buy his first motorbike at 16! As Ted is from Ireland the laws are were fairly relaxed when it came to teenagers and motorbikes and he took to the road on a provisional license and having never sat a lesson or a test in vehicle competance.
As all of this tomfoolery carried on Ted was also broadcasting across Dublin on various pirate radio stations until he got his break on a commercial radio station. Starting out as a producer and moving into radio presenting and has now spent many years in radio though after a good few beers down the pub will tell you that Rock Radio is the greatest station he has had the pleaseure of broadcasting on.
