What a fantastic weekend I had. Friday night I was all dressed up in the dinner suit for the Rocco Awards at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew, Saturday I saw Stone Gods then Airbourne at The Barrowland followed by the last 15 minutes of Extreme at The Carling Academy, then played some tunes at the Extreme aftershow party - what a night.
Stone Gods impressed me, they are a real rock band, they worked the crowd well and just as important, they have good songs.
Airbourne were superb, they have gone from nowhere to A list in less than a year and seeing them on the big stage of the Barrowland, it's easy to see why. New album next year is a very important album for them.
Extreme were also excellent, Nuno is still a very good guitarist and Gary, as well as being a fine singer, moves around that stage like a guy half his age.
The aftershow was great fun, it was open to anyone who was at the gig, I met a lot of Rock Radio listeners and it was good to see some of the bands relaxing and mixing with some of the fans who had earlier been watching them on the big stage.
